Because you can't always tell from the star wearing them if they will fit you, I've tried on a lot of women's jeans at the best stores in Los Angeles and New York City. My two girlfriends were my mirrors and together we questionned all the sales people at the stores we visited, we made very fast friends, we had a blast, and we bought a ton of jeans . Best Jeans - Citizens of Humanity by Jerome Dahan The Designer behind such great jeans brands as Lucky Brand Jeans, 7 for All Mankind, and Citizens of Humanity has now joined forces with Adriano Goldschmied to bring a breath of fresh air to jeans designs. I love , love them. The best fabric, the best fit, the best pockets, the best washes. Bar none. Citizens has several amazing fits and these are my favorites:
(1) Best Fit for Petites: The Dita- 30" inch inseam The Dita was designed from the ground up and is made specifically for petites. This is not a regular pair of jeans that had its legs shortened to accomodate petites. NO, these petite jeans were made specifically for you, and boy do they look amazing on. They are available in specialty boutiques or online at jeans.com
(2) Best Bootcut Jeans. For all you sexy girls in search of the perfect fit for your sexy legs look no further. The Faye and the Kelly bootcut with its straight bootcut is ideal for your sexy physique. I've seen them on too many stars to list and they always looked so sexy on my friends that I have to recommend them.
(3) Best High Waist/Wide Leg: The Darlington Hutton With a higher rise and wider fit throughout, The Darlington Hutton creates a flattering and classic silhouette that is an inspiration to men and women alike. The Darlington is for the true femme fatal with a higher contour waistband.
This means fit, fabric, feel, style, look, decoration, buttons, quality, workmanship, and the overall excitement of the salespeople at the stores about the jeans. I look at my jeans as an investment and to me Citizens' jeans are like apple stock if you bought it when Steve Jobs was 21.
4. Best Most Expensive Jeans That is Worth It- Stitch's
When are expensive jeans worth the money? When they deliver a pair of jeans that feels and fits so well that you never want to take them off! The fabric is unbelievably worked to the point of feeling like buttah. The most amazing thing is the fit and the buttons; incredibly beautiful colors. The feel is as if you've owned them your entire life and as if they were painted on you, There are several "fits" and you must try on a few to find the right one for your body.
Most affordable designer jeans with a great fit. We've tried them on at a store on Melrose and they fit like a glove; when we came back a couple of hours later thay were sold out. They are also available online at Victoria Secrets and Jeans.com.
No one has ever heard of the designer at Red Engine Jeans, but on a hot summer day, at Fred Segal in Santa Monica, I bought a white pair that fit me so great that I wore it out of the store. These are my staple jeans for the summer. If you do not care about the "designer" label, but want a pair of true quality jeans that really fits, then look for a pair of Red Engine jeans. People who already own a pair of Red Engine know what I'm talking about... (Hey Amy, LOL)
7. Best Denim Fabric - Evisu - also available at Nordstrom.
The fabric on this brand is unbelievable. It is the best japanese denim on the market. It feels like buttah. Very hip design. The fit is also very japanese.
8. Best Fun Color Jeans - Denim of Virtue
These jeans are so much fun, specially when you see all the fun colors hanging in a section of the store. They trully are eye candy. I saw a tall blonde at the car wash on Sunset and Fairfax wearing them, and wow did she make a statement. I recognized them from the subtle "V" embroidered on the side of the leg. I was about to talk to her, but they called out for her car. They are pretty hard to find, though. American Rag, Kiitson and Planet Blue has some, or you can also find them online.
The styles are definitely made for a younger generation of clubbers and starlets. Very skinny fits in nice colors and lots of contrast stitching, stitching for no other reasons but to make you do a double-take. These are fun jeans if you want to make a statement that you are not the norm. I bought the skinny overalls, and got a lot of compliments; I tried on the other designs, but they were a little bit too wild for me; but I can see why Hollywood starlets are going for that unusual look. Carried by very few stores in L.A; I did not see them in New York, and only one salesgirl at Atrium knew about these jeans. I do get a lot of looks when I wear them, I hope all good, but they are so unusual, that I am left guessing. If a pair of jeans can do that, then I'm all for it.
Thank you Thank you whoever you are at Level 99 who designed these trouser jeans. Finally a denim trouser that does not look like my great aunts high waisted jeans. These trouser make me look casual and sophisticated and theyget better with every wash.
